The Town of Koshkonong is located in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, and is adjacent to the communities of Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, Cold Spring, Whitewater, and Milton. We are a growing community of 3400 residents.

Spring Election April 6, 2010

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that at an election, to be held in the Town of Koshkonong, on Tuesday April 6, 2010, the following Town Supervisor offices will be elected for a 2-year term beginning April 14, 2010.

Nomination papers are available at the Koshkonong Town Hall, located at W5609 Star School Road, Fort Atkinson, WI 53538. You must be a resident of the Town of Koshkonong to be considered for candidacy in this election.

Nomination Papers and Declaration of candidacy can be picked up during office hours at the Town Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The office phone number is 563-4510.

NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN, that the first day to circulate Nomination papers is Tuesday December 1, 2009 and papers must be returned to the Clerk by 5:00pm on Tuesday January 5, 2010, to be placed on the ballot.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that if a primary is necessary for said offices, the primary will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010.

US Highway 12 Bypass Update

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback to WisDOT during the public comment period regarding the proposed highway 12 bypass around Fort Atkinson. We are doing everything we can to preserve the rural nature of our town for all residents. On November 21, 2005, the town passed a resolution opposing Alternatives 7 and 7a, which pass through the Town of Koshkonong.

We added a section to this web site dedicated to the bypass. You can learn more about the proposed routes and find links to the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and other useful information.

Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation and Open Space Plan

In April 2005 the Town of Koshkonong released its Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation and Open Space Plan . It provides guidance to protect and improve our natural resources and to provide public recreational opportunities for our growing population.
